Printing on Pyrex!

Silkscreen assignment was to print on a different material other than paper or t-shirts so I chose pyrex dish ware I picked up at the vintage shop down the block.

I Love My Cat Too Much: A Zine

I made a zine as one of my final projects in the silkscreen class.
One side is photo copied but when you unfold the zine, the inside has a screen printed poster
You can get one on my etsy shop!

SVA Junior Project - Haakon VII of Norge

This is my Junior Series (kind of like an art thesis) all done and is the big project we as SVA illustration juniors work on all school year long. There was a nice gallery show displaying selected works which I was a part of and I also won a scholarship thanks to this piece! So that was very exciting and I am very happy with how my series turned out.

Technique: etching and aquatint printed on cloth with hand embroidery

King Haakon VII began his reign in 1905 after Norway dissolved its union with Sweden. The Norwegian people were happy with their King and their new independence. When the Nazis threatened to invade in 1940, King Haakon VII refused to cooperate with them so Germany attacked. The power struggle for Norway and the King’s resistance against the Nazis is the focus of my series. Many other countries recognized Norway’s courage and FDR acknowledged this in his speech, “Let him look to Norway.” After years in exile, when the war was finally over, the King was welcomed back to his country with open arms.

Personal piece in the process

I have started a self portrait personal piece and am teaching myself beadwork. I've been posting some in-the-process shots on my instagram and thought I'd drop them here too.
To follow more updates on my art (mixed with silly things) my instagram is kjersti_kitty

Stickers!

All available on my etsy shop !
All drawings were originally done in watercolor and ink, then scanned in, printed on matte sticker paper then cut out by hand.

For this next set, they were inked, scanned in and then colored digitally:
